The Harriet Glen Wilmore Scholarship

Purpose
Harriet Glen Scholarship supports residents of the
Wilmore Neighborhood in Charlotte, North Carolina who wish
to attend college, technical or vocational school.

Minimum Eligibility
Wilmore Scholarship applicants must meet the following
criteria:

• Must be residents of the Wilmore neighborhood in
Charlotte, NC which is located just south of the center of
Charlotte and is generally defined by Summit Avenue on
the north, Interstate 77 on the west, South Tryon Street on
the east and Spruce Street / Wilmore Drive / Woodcrest
Avenue / W. Worthington Avenue on the south.

• 2.0 minimum cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0
scale) *For applicants who are out of school ten years or
more, the GPA requirement may be waived. If the GPA
requirement is waived, a positive recommendation letter
from a recent employer, instructor, or counselor will be
required.

• Must have lived in the Wilmore Neighborhood for at least
one year (12 months) prior to the application deadline.

Scholarship Awards
Scholarships awards vary annually at the discretion of the
scholarship committee.
